Margaret Collins-Coleman was born February 28, 1930 in Alto Louisiana to the late Aslee Dobinson and Eddie Frank Collins. Margaret was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Louis Coleman Sr. In Rayville, LA. Margaret was united with Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Izelle Frazier at Mount Oliver Baptist Church in Rayville, LA in 1965. Margaret united with Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mitchell surviving under Rev. Ryan and Rev. R. L. Johnson serving until her health fell.
On September 26, 2018 God dispatched his angels to deliver Margaret wings at the age of 88 years old. She is now resting in a place that has no hurt, harm or pain. A place of everlasting peace and joy. She worked and retired from the Lee County School Board. She was also a caregiver in the medical profession. Margaret took a lot of people under her care never, turning anyone away.
She was preceded in death by two daughters Betty Littleton, Lettie Jackson. Three sons Moses Walker, Joseph(Sallie)Ashley, and Eddie Coleman.
Margaret leaves to cherish precious memories, her stepmother Marion Collins. One sister- Marilyn Johnson, three daughters:Gloria (Lee) Lawson, Classie Coleman, Leslie Jones. Four sons Robert (Arsenia) Coleman, Lewis (Jacqueline) Coleman Jr, Marshall (Eatha)Coleman, Billy Ray (Vernonia)Coleman ,one god son- Arthur Beard, three daughter in laws Nora Walker, Emma Coleman and Victoria Coleman, two special nieces: Fannie Thomas, Elmarie Moore, thirty-nine grandchildren, seventy three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
