James E. Moses was born May 31, 1941 in Lee County, South Carolina; he was the son of the late Jessie Bell Rouse and Mingo Moses Sr.
He received his education in the public schools of Lee County. At an early age he moved to Florida where he spent most of his life.
On Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Naples Community Hospital, Naples, Florida, James E. “JD” Moses heard a voice say “Come unto me, and I will give you rest.” He responded to the loving invitation, allowing Jesus’ divine wisdom to pierce the heavy sadness that curtains our souls. He will now receive the sweet rest and refreshment promised.
James E.“JD” Moses “Lucky” as he was called leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife Ida Lee Moses of the home and his son James Moses; three brothers, Robert J.(Annie) Moses of Sumter, SC; Jessie L.(Lorene) Moses of Mayesville, SC; Willie L.(Janie) Moses of Sumter, SC; two sisters, Jannie M. Edmonds and Martha Moses both of Sumter, SC; a Special nephew born in Florida Dionte’ A.(Renee)Moses of Douglasville, Georgia; one aunt Leola Wilson of Lynchburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Mingo “LP” Moses, Jr. and one brother-in-law Fate “June” Edmonds, Jr.
