What a Beautiful Life
Mrs. Sarah Christine Davis Barnes was born on October 18, 1958, to the union of Willie Sr. and the late Ethel Davis of Lane, South Carolina. Chris , as she was affectionately called, started school in Lee County at Franklin Park Elementary School. She graduated from Cypress Lake High School in 1976 and immediately started working a United Telephone Company, which later became Sprint. Chris worked at these companies for 23 years, but saw a better instrument to spread her love and wisdom. Chris, after leaving Sprint, opened a daycare center in her name and proceeded to spread her warmth, care and wisdom to the children and parents that came through her doors until her health began to fade.
Chris was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She then joined New Life Hope Assembly, where she was the Sunday School Secretary until the time of her illness. Chris loved cooking and inviting he family and friends over to eat and fellowship. She was the team mom for her son’s football team for 3 years, covering the Pee-Wee, Jr. Midget and Midget Divisions. Again, she loved her family and friends and always helped when called upon.
Chris was a beautiful person that loved the Lord. If you asked her how she was feeling while ill, her answer was always "all is well with soul". Her beautiful smile will be missed.
Chris was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Davis.
Chris leaves many behind to cherish her memory. Her dedicated husband of 33 years, Alvin Barnes Sr.; two loving children, daughter Tunisia N. Barnes, son Alvin Barnes Jr.; her wonderful father, Willie L. Davis Sr.;
