Mr. Thomas Eugene DeBose, Sr. was born February 18, 1938 to Jessie and Jurshia DeBose in Crescent City, Fl. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandfather, Richard “Blossom” Johnson.
He attended school in Crescent City and Ft. Myers, Fl., and served his country in the United States Navy from 1955-1957. In 2000, after many years of hard labor, Thomas retired from Tincher and Tincher Construction.
On Wednesday, July 21st at 9:14 p.m., the Lord said” Well don thou go and faithful servant, come on home.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Thomas DeBose Jr. (Jan) of Atlanta, Georgia, Eric DeBose, Kendrick DeBose, Rodrick DeBose all of Ft. Myers, Fl.; stepsons, Jarrold Greene Sr., and Emmett Greene Sr., two daughters, Victoria Williams (Gene “Limar”) of N. Lauderdale, Fl., and Renata DeBose (Jr.) of Ft. Myers, Fl.; fifteen grandchildren, Tra Kesha DeBose,
Maya Estesphonos, Ja-Darius Williams, Eric DeBose, Jr., Tamarius DeBose, Ja’Terica DeBose, Da’Quan DeBose, Emmitt Williams, Jr., Earl Rivers, Ronnail Tape, ReNiyah Tape, Rihanna DeBose, six stepchildren, Delta Greene, Emmett Greene Jr., E’Monie Greene, Jerrold Greene Jr., Amajai Greene, and Emmery Greene; one brother, Robert Drakeford (Gwen) of Philadelphia, PA.; lifelong companion, Ruby Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for Thomas Eugene DeBose Sr. will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Mary M.B. Church, 2182 Mitchell Court, Ft. Myers, Florida. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Hickson's Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hickson Funeral Home Inc., 3308 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Ft.
