Willie James Hood was born in Marks, Mississippi to the union of Willie and Emma Hood on June 18, 1936. He attended schools in Quitman County. He met Shirley Brown and married her in 1952. They then moved to Tampa, Florida where he worked for 35 years as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Hood; and his second wife, Annie Hood; and son, James Earl Hood.
He leaves to cherish his memories: four sisters, Rose Anderson of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Beatrice Hicks of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lucy Wilson (Johnny) of Ft. Myers, Fl. and Mary Gant (Eddie) of Ft. Myers; two brothers, Walter Hood (Ernestine) of Streator, Illinois and Rey Hood (Elizabeth) of Memphis, Tennesee; two daughters, Thelma Hood and Seneca Robinson (Shawn) both of Tampa, Fl. and very devoted friend, Priscilla Lias; twenty five grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. an whole host of nieces nephews cousins and friends.
