Obituary
Laverne Denise James was born on Aril 13, 1965 in Miami, Florida to the late Sammie Lee James and Janice James. She moved to Fort Myers early during early childhood and accepted Christ in her life at an early age. Laverne or “Pee-Wee” as she was known by her family and close friends attended public schools in the Lee County. Although, she was a single mother of six she put herself through two nursing programs while working full time. Despite her accomplishments Laverne remained humble, never looked down on others and would help a complete stranger.
Due to her apparent genuine, sincere, loving, caring, compassionate and willing to help others demeanor she made an everlasting impression on whomever she encountered making it effortless for her to develop and maintain lasting friendships. Laverne will always be remembered for her engaging smile, outgoing personality and remarkable intelligence. She was a very devoted mother and dedicated nurse.
Laverne was preceded by brother, James Ross. She leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Tyronia Collins; five sons, Xavier Hernandez Jr., Deshawn James, Tony Collins, Joesph Collins, and Tyrone Collins. Her grandchildren, Tavien Hernandez, Uriah Hernandez, Tony Collins Jr., Jalisa Collins and Yesenia Hernandez; sister, Joyce James; special friends, Mary Woody-Speed and Debbie Hubbell , a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
