Mrs. Louise Green Barnes was born on July 10, 1928 in Fort Myers, Florida, to Cary and Mary Green. At an early age, she accepted Christ, and joined Mount Hermon Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnes was the youngest child born to Cary and Mary Green. She is a 1947 graduate of Dunbar High School. She was married to Marcus Walden Barnes, Sr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Barnes was also preceded in death by her parents, her twelve siblings, including her twin brother, Louis and her son, Michael. She was kind-hearted, loving and a source of wisdom to all she encountered.

 Mrs. Barnes is survived by her sons: Marcus Barnes, Jr. (Essie) of Cape Coral, Florida and Gregory Barnes (Kimberly) of Holly Springs, North Carolina. Her grandchildren: Monica D. Barnes of Miami, Florida; Monshay Gibbs of Lehigh Acres, Florida; Dante Hutchins of Fort Myers, Florida; Marcus Walden Barnes, III of Fort Myers, Florida; Katrice Barnes of Valdosta, Georgia; Amber Beaubrun (Joubert) of Lehigh Acres, Florida; Devon Goodman of Fort Myers, Florida; Marquis Barnes of Baltimore, Maryland; Alexis Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina and Imani Faith Barnes of North Fort Myers, Florida.

Mrs. Barnes also leaves behind two step-grandchildren: Nishika Stovall of Abingdon, Maryland and Jamar Mays of Silverdale, Washington. Stepsons: Erolyn Barnes (Ethel) of North Fort Myers, Florida and Malcolm Barnes (Debra) of Orlando, Florida. Nieces: Altamese Burton of Fort Myers, Florida and Roberta Neal Davis of Fort Myers, Florida. Cousins: David Greene (Thessalonia) of Tallahassee, Florida; Mila Hill of Sopchoppy, Florida and Joe Musgray (Barbara) of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, at Mt. Hermon Ministries, 2856 Douglas Street, Ft. Myers, Fl.  Interment to follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, Lehigh Acres, Florida.
