Julia Mae Wring was born in Elizabeth, Georgia on June 23, 1924 to Fred and Daisy Williams. After her mother’s death in 1927, her father moved the family to Savannah, Georgia where she and her sisters attended public school.

Julia accepted the Lord in her early teens.

She was married to Henry Wring on Ridgeland, South Carolina on July 11, 1943 and later moved to Ft. Myers, Florida in 1956. Julia is the mother of 11 children.

She was a friend to many people. She enjoyed helping those in need at Palm City Garden Retirement Village, where she resided for 15 years.

She enjoyed traveling to California, Oregon, Maryland, and Ohio to visit her children until she became ill. She was preceded in death by her son, Claud Wring - 1974; daughter, Venus Wring - 2009; son, Harold Wring - 2010.

She is survived by 8 children, Henry Wring (the late Mary) of Cleveland, Ohio, Janice Wring of Alexandria, Va., Jeanette (Chris) Austin of Cleveland, Ohio, Wilvia Wring of Cleveland, Juliette Mays and the late Kenneth Mays of Georgia, Samuel Wring (Dorothy) of Ft. Myers, Fl., Clarence Smith of Ft. Myers, Fl., Gerald L. (Vern) Smith of Ft. Myers, Fl.; daughter-in-law, Gloria Wring; 28 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services wil be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2119 Prince Street, Ft. Myers, Florida 33916.  Vistation will be held 7-8 p.m.,  Friday, May 13, 2011 at Hickson's Funeral Home, 3308 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Ft. Myers, Florida 33916.
