Loretta White, also lovingly known as "Birdie Mae", was born on December 16, 1935 to the late Anthony Black and the late Nora Landrum in Ft. Myers, Florida.
In her early years she received Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Later she became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. James Stephens, where she served as usher and choir member. In latter years, she became a member of Global Ministries, Inc. under the leadership of Pastor Annie A. Knight.
Loretta attended Dunbar High School in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was a part of the "pep squad", girl's basketball and softball team. She graduated in 1956.
She was employed by Ohio Medical Products where she retired. She then began her daycare center, helping to rear many of our local children.
In 1975, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie White.

On September 1, 2014, Mrs. Loretta White departed this life to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Cleveland Black, Mildred Bolden, and Anthony White of Ft. Myers, Fl., and Clarence Black (Willisteen) of Columbia, S.C., fifteen brothers and sisters, Paul Robinson, Mildred Hampton (David Hampton-deceased), the late Bobby Black (Martha), Henry Black (Mattie), Isabelle Gilmore (Jimmy Gilmore Sr.-deceased), Gloria Stirrups, Harriett Johnson, the late Edward Johnson (Mattie) of Ft. Myers, Fl., Donnie Johnson of Sarasota, Fl., Anthony Black (Candace), Janice Davidson (Michael), Andrew Black, Cheryl Black and Vickie Black of Miami, Fl.; six grandchildren, Lateria Black, Halbrook Bolden III, Katrina Black, Clarence Black, LaShonta Black and Jeremiah Tucker; eight great grandchildren, four godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other sorrowing relatives and friends; two special friends, Wanda Lunger and Mary Brown-Grattic of Ft. Myers, Fl.
