Barbara Jean Brooks was born to the union of Sylvester and Mary Brooks on February 2, 1953 both deceased by 1980.
Mary L. Gant became Barbara’s legal guardian and took care of her after her parents died. Barbara was educated in Lee County School System. She attended Church at Grace Community Church on Central Avenue in Fort Myers.
She was known for doing odd jobs like washing and folding clothes around various laundry mats in Fort Myers. Barbara always joking and full of laughter. She will be missed by all.
Barbara was preceded in death by her four brothers, Percy Hood Sr., Curtis Hood Sr., Thomas Ashley and Ricky Raybon.
She leaves to cherish her memories her foster mother, Mary L. Gant (Eddie) of Fort Myers, Florida; seven sisters, Annie Jean Ruth (Troy) of Fort Myers, Cassandra Raybon Wilder (Mark), Tiffany Thomas and Marilyn Lucas all of Orlando, Florida, Tessie Caldwell of Jacksonville, Daisy Hayes of Tallahassee and Jennie Thomas of Havana, Florida; six brothers, Robert Jugger of Brooklyn, New York, Frankie Raybon (Torreka), Eddie Gant Jr. (Jamie), Edward Gant (Caprice), James Gant (Cierra), Tevin Gant all of Fort Myers and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
