Reverend Cyril Norman James

Reverend Cyril Norman James of Cape Coral returned to the Lord on July 2, 2010. He was born in Jamaica, WI on April 13, in the year of our Lord 1924.
Reverend C. Norman James was ordained as a minister in 1959 and served several Rockland churches for many years.
Reverend James lived a tireless service to his family and his community, being involved with the Friendship M.B. Church in Ft. Myers, attending the Diplomat Wesleyan Church in Cape Coral, and attending NAACP meetings until he was physically unable to do so.
Reverend C. Norman James is survived by Iris James, his wife of 60 years. To this union five children were born, Norman Nathaniel (who passed away in 1992), Iris Evadnia, Monica Yvette, John Phillip, and Neville Paul.
Reverend James will be eulogized first in Florida at Friendship M.B. Church in Ft. Myers on Wednesday, July 7th from 6 p.m – 9 p.m., and then his earthly remains will be flown for a wake Friday, July 9th from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and a Going Home Service, Saturday, July 10th at St. Paul’s AME Zion Church in Spring Valley, New York. Interment will be at the Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead, New York at noon.
