Michael Walter Rezendes, 66 passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 5, 2018.   Michael’s health was not perfect, but he was diligent about making changes to follow a healthy lifestyle, which he accomplished.
Michael was born on November 22, 1951, in Acushnet, MA.  Michael graduated from New Bedford High School and the University of Massachusetts, North Dartmouth with a degree in Accounting.

Michael was enjoying his retirement and filled his time with taking care of his apartment buildings, watching sports, and spending time with his wife of over 32 years, Michele LaCasse Rezendes.  He recently purchased the car of his dreams, a Corvette.  He enjoyed traveling to Miami, watching old time westerns, finding hidden treasures at the dump with his father in-law Maurice LaCasse and  spending time  with his son, Christopher Rezendes and his wife, Sara Frances Rezendes, along with his two grandchildren, Carter and Annie.  He was excited about his third grandchild being born in March.  He also had much to look forward to in the coming year with his son Jonathan Rezendes’ marriage to Lauren Michelle Scogin in June and his daughter, Alexandra Rezendes’ graduation from Laboure College in May.  He enjoyed spending time with Alexandra’s boyfriend, Craig Rode, when he was in town.  He was a firm believer in a college education and worked hard to make sure his children were given every opportunity possible to attend the college of their choice.  He was so very proud of all they have accomplished.

Services and burial will be private.

Thank you all who reached out to our family during this very difficult time.

Michele and family,
What a loss for your family and for all of us who knew and loved Michael. He was always so warm, friendly, and full of humor. I always loved when he called and Michele wasn't at her desk - it gave me an opportunity to talk with him and get to know him better.

My family is praying for all of you now and will continue to do so in the months ahead. May you find the comfort and hope of Christ to get through each day.

Love from the fmaily,
Tina

Dearest Michele--there are no words to express how much heartache I feel for you and your family. It goes without saying that your HSL family is deeply saddened and mourns your loss. But you have many "mitzvahs" ahead, and I know you'll find great strength, and feel so much love, from those moments. May Mike's memory always be a blessing.
