Francis “Bud” Call of Walpole; age 88.
December 31, 1927 – December 2, 2016

Bud was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and all around character whose humor and charm will be greatly missed. Bud is survived by his children Charlot (Bill) Gold, Raymond (Charlene) Call, Nancy (Ed) Sanford, and Janice (Kerry) Rosado, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and too many friends to count. He was proceeded in death by his wife of sixty three years and love of his life Marion Meyer, as well as his son David Call, his sister Evelyn Loring, and his parents Raymond and Ida Call of Walpole.
Bud grew up in Walpole and graduated from Walpole High School in 1945. After serving his country in the Navy from 1945-1946, he attended trade school to become a tool and die maker. His acumen and passion for the field led to the successful opening and operation of his own business, where he enjoyed both the challenge and flexibility of being his own boss.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Bud joined the Masons and was installed as a Master to Azure Lodge of Walpole in 1965. In June of 2016, he was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition for fifty seven years of dedicated service to Masonry, as well as a Lewis Jewel representing both his and his father’s years of membership.
An avid golfer, skier, snowmobiler and sports enthusiast Bud never sat still. In the winter, you could find him on the slopes of Okemo Mountain teaching his family to ski. Summers were spent at the family camp in Buzzards Bay. Travel was also a passion for both Bud and his wife Marion. They particularly loved visiting the beaches of Florida and the National Parks.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Alexander F. Thomas and Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common Street, Walpole on Tuesday September 19th.  Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 pm followed by a Masonic service.

Janice, Just read about your father passing. Wanted to let you know that I always think of you when I drive by West Street and remember your father taking you skiing. My mother always talked fondly about your Dad and what a great person he was. I am glad you had a wonderful life with him.
Take care, Susan
