Frye for over fifty years, father of Alan R. of Sharon, MA, Geoffrey W. of Stafford Springs, CT, and Daniel C. and wife Linda of Westwood, MA. Brother of the late Nancy Tillinghast Post Shepherd. Loving Grandpa of Jennifer, John, Gregory, Sarah, and Nicholas. Survived by many other family members. Thought of as friend by so many, especially Susan Allison of Stoughton, MA. WWII Army Air Corps veteran. A long-time copy editor for the Boston Globe. Irving lived most of his life in Sharon, MA. He was a lifelong member of the Unitarian Church of Sharon and an active participant in many local activities including Mass Audubon's Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary, Sharon's Council on Aging, the Kendall Whaling Museum, the Sharon Historical Society, the Sharon Tennis Club, and Sharon Recreation Department Ping Pong, Tai Chi, & Memoirs Writing group. He served as a representative to the Neponset River Watershed Association. He was a full supporter of the Union of Concerned Scientists, Common Cause, & Descendents of Whaling Masters. He took great pleasure in reading and writing poetry. Irving R. Post, a small-town boy, dreamt of raising a family and his dream came true ..Visiting hours to be held this Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 pm at the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home at 45 Common Street, Walpole, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
