My condolences to the family and friends of Barbara (Fernandes) Fontes.

I will miss her very much. Although I haven't seen her recently. The last time I saw her she had the smile that she always gave me. She always had something to nice to say even when I was giving her grief, she would just give me look say something and at the end I would get that smile.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about the loss of my beautiful friend and sister Barb.. As you danced into the light with joy, His love lifted you. As you brushed against this world so passionately you lifted us. Your bright smile and unconditional love will remain with me, forever.

I extend my heartfelt condolences, love and prayers to the family of Barbara Fontes.

I don't live in Boston anymore, and haven't for at least 5 years, but I do remember Barbara and my heart is saddened by her passing. She was the best and I considered her a friend. I am a member of the Eastern Star and Order of Cyrenes, we were always happy to know that Barbara would be behind the bar. I know God has guided her into his heavenly home and the family has my deepest sympathy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

Barbara was like family to us and she will be forever cherished in our hearts and memories.

No words can express our sadness during this time. May you find comfort in knowing she was a remarkable woman and will always be remembered! She was one who spoke of her family in loving terms and cared deeply for all those she met! Heaven has received a beautiful angel!

Babsie was my cousin whom I spent many summers with as well as so much time growing up. I have too many memories and stories to tell and will miss her smile and loving ways. I find it hard to believe I will not see her again this year at the Cape Verdean Festival. All my love and prayers to her two beautiful daughters she loved so dearly. Just lean on all those happy memories you have of her and God will be there for you to lean on during this very sad time. Love you.

Michelle & Denise and your families. All I can say is why. She was OH so good to everyone. She was my first BOSS @ IKON which was her life other than her family. We lived a 1/2 a mile away and she would pick me up in the worst of weather although I had to call her every morning @ 5/5.30 AM to wake her up. She nicked named me PANGELINA and she was the only one who called me that. I will forever take that name with me. She was one special LADY always remember that. Angela from Ikon and Sharon, now from Billerica for quite a few years.

My heart is sad that I have lost a DEAR friend and colleague. I have known and worked with Barbara for 27 years and I will miss her very much. She was a very special lady. We always had our morning talks and all the nice dinners that we all went to with Bettye, Barbara, Angela, Francine and myself. I love you Barbara and I know you are at peace now and looking down on us all. My thoughts and prayers are with you Denise and Michelle. You were very lucky girls.

So many thoughts run through my mind when I think of Barbara. From the first time I met her we instantly hit it off. Her wit and humor were unique. My recent memory of her visit to Macon a couple of years ago were so very special, I will cherish those memories forever. She stayed for the weekend we laughed, we talked, we talked about life and relationships. After her visit she sent me a card that I still have today. My last words to her when she called me the day of her retirement was...I love you. I will miss her dearly, My faith in God gives me hope that I will see her again...be comforted family by Gods word paricularly those found in - 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 Be faithful until then.

Barbara was a special lady and always spoke her mind. She took good care of her customers and made sure we did, too. I am so glad that I got to meet her in person when she visited Macon Ga a few years ago. She fought a good fight and now may she rest in peace. Although we will all miss her --condolences to her family who will miss her most of all.

Barbara was a great champion for her customers. She would always say her name when you answered the call.....like anyone else would page us before 8:00!!! She will be missed by all that worked with her at the Macon office.

My Dad use to go around the corner to get you to play with me. I was about 3, you 4. You were always more like a sister than a cousin. We adopted you on your 65th birthday. I never wanted you to feel you had no siblings. We had so many good times. You never gave up. You were so strong and you loved life. Sleep now until we meet again. The first drink will be on me. I cannot begin to express my sadness to your family. I have known Barbara for the better part of 25 years. She scared the daylights out of me when I first met her and it took me a while to get to know the real Barbara. Our families spent time together in Disney World back in the old (ACopy) days and that began a permanent and lasting friendship. Her stories of family and her past were a constant conversation. Since my return to the company and working with Barbara very closely these last seven+ years, our friendship grew to a greater level than I could have imagined. I have lost a very dear friend, you have lost a cherished family member and the world lost an incredible woman. Heaven has gained an angel – I hope they can endure her occasional colorful language – she is worth it! I love you Barbara.

To the family of Barbara Fontes, I am deeply sorry to hear of the passing of one such a beautiful person. She reminded me so much of my own mother until I started calling her "mother", and for many years now, I enjoyed thoroughly laughing and talking to "mother" about work, our lives and personal experiences. She was truly admired by many and will be missed greatly. I LOVE YOU MOTHER!! May you rest in paradise!! Your other daughter, Tina Burney-Kerr !!

My deepest condolence to all the family. Barbara and I go way back... she was my manager at Martha Elliot. Many years later I bumped into her as a customer at the Credit Union, always will remember her smile and kindness towards me.
