Dear Friends,

Please accept Ellen and my sincere condolences on the loss of Mr. Kane. He and Mrs. Kane always opened their doors (and refrigerator) to me and all of Steve's friends - as they surely did for all of their children's friends. Crown Copy Center was a welcome sight to us as a gathering place and a refuge from inclement weather, traffic jams, or whatever else might have been bothering us at the time.

I will never forget the friendship, hospitality and parental oversight and advice that came from the Kane household. As Steve recently reminded us, Mr. Kane was surely a good sport – supporting all of our high school athletic teams - most of them with losing records. More importantly, he was there to support all of our endeavors - not just the ones on the athletic fields.

Mr. Kane was one of many men and women of his generation who helped build the strong foundation and set the great example for living one's life that my generation has been able to build upon – with his service to others and country, his work ethic and the strong values, ethics, faith and love of family and friends that sustained him for a lifetime.

We are sorry that Ellen and I cannot be there with you - but please accept our condolences and know that we are thinking of you and that I am remembering Mr. Kane with admiration and also with gratitude for the important role that he and Mrs. Kane played in my life and my friends' lives.

With love, your friends,

Mike and Ellen

We were neighbors and friends of John and Mary Kane for many years when we all lived on Rolling Lane in Medfield. John and Mary drove me to our daughter's wedding and we attended their 50th wedding anniversary party. John was a very friendly and outgoing person and always willing to help someone when it was needed. He will certainly be missed by his beloved family.
