Ken graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Business Administration (BBA) in 1957. He was
also a veteran of the US Army and served from 1957 to 1963. He served first in Germany as a chaplain
assistant during the height of the Berlin Crisis and was called again into service and served in Granite City, IL, where he
achieved the rank of staff sergeant in the Army's Corp of Engineers. After being honorably discharged,
Ken worked in various industrial management positions during the remainder of 60's and into the early 70's. In
1973 Ken opened the automobile and Jeep dealership Ken Ludwig Motors in Adrian, MI and continued that enterprise
until 1981. In the early 1980's Ken began attending seminary and continued his education until he received
his Doctorate in Theology. He became a fulltime Methodist Minister in 1985 and served in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
His perishes in Ohio included: Shadeville, New Holland, Atlanta, Hebron and Van Wert. In Kentucky he was
Executive Director of Redbird Mission. While in Indiana he served numerous local churches as an interim pastor.
In addition he was very active at the First United Methodist Church, LaGrange, IN. He was a member of the American Legion, the Appalachian Trail Association, the Kendallville YMCA,
and was a former member of the Optimist Club, and Elks Lodge No. 429, Moose Lodge #1034, and Toledo 4 wheelers. He enjoyed
hiking, reading, motorcycles, auto shows, local stock and sprint car races, University of Michigan football, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife -Sherron J. Ludwig – LaGrange, IN. 2 daughters - Suzanne & (Mark) DuShane
– Adrian, MI and Kathleen & (George)– Toledo, OH. 1 son Kenneth V. & (Kristine) Ludwig –
Maumee, OH. 1 brother - V. Keith & (Roberta) Ludwig
– Tecumseh, MI. 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in Death by his parents.
Ken's faith,
service, love and devotion is an inspiration to us all. He touched the lives of so many. He
will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Carney-Frost
Funeral Home, LaGrange, IN. A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, LaGrange, Indiana
with Pastor Chris Danielson officiating on Thursday April 1, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from
10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Onsted Memorial Cemetery, Onsted, MI with
a graveside service with full Military Rites on Saturday April 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to: The
