Charles Leon "Butch" Johnson, 69 years of Canaryville, Chicago, IL. passed away on August 14, 2018. Butch wa a US Army Veteran having served during Vietnam.
Butch was an avid Bears fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered by his loved ones for the good times shared playing cards, telling jokes and enjoying good music and food (especially sweets).
Butch was preceded in death by his parents Les and Mary Johnson, sister Ruby Groner and brother Robert Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Johnson; sisters Patricia Lavery of Chicago, Peggy Bumgardner of Alabama and Mary Nealy of Mississippi; brother Timmy Johnson and wife Marcha of Mississippi as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Charles Johnson.
Thursday, August 23, 2018, 9:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home for a procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for Entombment at 11:00 a.m.
