ELIZABETH (BETTY JEAN) COIT
1947 – 2015
Coit, Betty Jean (nee Bowen), age 68 passed peacefully on June 9, 2015. Born to the late Clarence & Winifred Bowen, she was raised in Chicago (Canaryville) with her siblings – Jim (Mary Lou) Bowen, Cookie (Mark) Rypel, the late Pat (Dave) Czubak, the late Joanne and the late Clarence. The ever-devoted mother of Sherry (Michael) James, Mark (Kathleen) Coit, and Christine (Allen) Coit-Richardson. Betty Jean worked many years at Peter Pan Peanut Butter. Her later years were spent gardening and holiday decorating with her long-time Honey, the late Jim Shaughnessy and being a cherished Nana to Taylor, Emma, MaryKate, Riley, and Stephanie Hamby. Aunt Betty Jean adored her nieces and nephews, who will miss her greatly. She was a one-of-a-kind babysitter, lunch lady, neighbor and friend who will forever be remembered.
