Celene V. McInerney Siedlecki, 86 years, Popular south side funeral director for more than 60 years died on January 6, 2015, after an extended illness. Beloved wife of 65 years to Charles C. (Ret. CPD) Siedlecki; devoted mother of Charles (Ret. CPD) (Maureen Ret. CPD), and Patrick Siedlecki; loving grandmother of Charles, Thomas and Theresa “Reese” Siedlecki; dearest daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (nee Lally) McInerney; loving sister of the late Margaret (late Charles) Munley, the late Rosemarie (late William) Barry; special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Canaryville, Celene was always proud of her Canaryville roots, which run deep, as the original Thomas McInerney’s Sons funeral home was established there by her Grandfather in 1873. Celene was an amazing woman, gentle, forgiving, always kind and generous, but she knew her own mind, and had great strength of character.  She faced life’s adversities with dignity, courage and grace.  She will be sorely missed by her many friends in Chicago, Canaryville and Long Beach-Michigan City, Indiana. A staunch supporter of St. Gabriel Church and many area charities. Member of the Funeral Directors Services Association of Chicago.  Funeral services Monday January 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. from Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home, 4635 So. Visitation Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Gabriel's Church Building Fund, 4520 S. Wallace St., Chicago, IL 60609. Chuck:
Just heard of your mothers passing. Sorry for your loss. A mother plays a huge role in keeping families together. I know she will be missed. I hope all your children are doing well. And how is your wife doing, is she into the funeral industry now; she'll do well. A lot of changes for myself this past 2014. I hope we can get together this year for breakfast and chat. The bet to you and your family. John Minich
