Barbara Denise “Niecy” Barner was born on December 30, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Barbara Lee Barner Wade and Lionell Shirley.

Barbara graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1977. She complete two years of Community College. She the went on to work for  the Metropolitan Development Building Inspection Department for over twenty years. After which, she became a caregiver because she had a passion for helping and comforting others.

Barbara  professed a hope in Christ  at an early age. She loved and worshipped the Lord. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Barbara  was a loving and caring woman who took in a lot of women and gave them love, support and advice.  She was always    giving encouraging words. She was full of life and loved to laugh.

Barbara Denise “Niecy” Barner   departed this life on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the age of sixty years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Steven Wade and Otis Griffin.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Kevin Jackson; beloved daughter, Tyda Ray; her beloved  partner, Mark Burner; her beloved siblings, Otis L. Griffin (Barbara), Darryl Barner, Michael Hooten (Francine), Charles Wade (Virgie), Carlos Wade (Kentryce), John Wade, Kevin Spells, Reggie Shirley, Darlene Barner, Debra Griffin, and Michelle Wade, a host of nieces and   nephews, many other relatives, church family and friends.
