Posted by: Gail Arno Mon July 24, 2006 | Auntie Olivia was an unforgettable, funny and flamboyant woman. As a child I remember waking after a Friday overnight at her busy house to see her sweeping laundry along the hall floors while barking orders to her children and overnighters. One Sunday, just after Mass began, I saw her stride up the main aisle, confidant in a huge floral topped hat, seating herself smack in the front row. My aunt once told me that all that mattered with us kids is that we become "good people," -- good words to live by. |
