Posted by: Lorraine D'Angelo Lee Thu December 28, 2017 | Dear Pace Family,
We are so heartbroken to hear of Joe's passing. My Mother Jennie and Dad Aldo had such fond memories of Joe and his Mother and Father in the North End. My greatest memory of Joe, was stopping into his store on Hanover St. with my Dad when I was a kid, and Joe would make us mortadella sandwiches from the fresh bread we would get at the bakery. It was over 48 years ago but it was a great memory I will never forget, his gentle smile. God Bless, from The Aldo D'Angelo Family |

Posted by: Maureen Knight Sun January 07, 2018 | Dear Angela,
I was sad to hear of Joe's passing. This email seemed to be the only way to connect with you and I wanted you to know that I am thinking about you and your children and grandchildren and praying for you all. Joe was always so good to us when all "the girls" descended on your home and raised the roof with chatter and dance and all the wonderful food you made us. And that overnight we had as grown women with children was the funniest night of my life! And through it all Joe smiled.... Love to you all, Maureen Knight |

Posted by: Jane Breschard Wilson Thu March 29, 2018 | Charles River Park is finally showing some signs of spring - and soon we'll be sipping our coffees outside of Pace's.... J Pace & son is such a part of our West End community. It is different, knowing Joe is gone. The West End Civic Association honored Joe a few years ago; he was absolutely too young to be called an "institution" but he was, to WECA and so many of our neighbors. Bless him for his many kindnesses - and for introducing us to so many of his wonderful family members. We have lost a treasure and will remember him at Easter Mass.- |
