Carolyn Kay Shinners
Our baby girl passed away August 16, 2008 in Boxford, MA at the age of 20. She was born in Boston, MA on April 7, 1988 to John William Shinners and Kathleen Helene Clark. She was the beloved step-daughter of Cindy Shinners. Carolyn was one of a kind! To most she was quiet and reserved, but to those who knew her best, she was an excellent athlete full of adventure and mischief. Her love for the outdoors began early as a ruff-tuff tomboy, who worked hard and protected her brothers as much as they protected her. Her great loves in life were her dog Oscar, playing hockey, and her family, especially Poppy, Grandma, Nana and Aunt Noreen. She was Poppy's little ice princess! Carolyn graduated from Springville, Utah High School in 2007 then went to live with her father, where she was evolving into a very kind, loving, and beautiful young woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Carolyn leaves behind her parents, her brothers; Mike Shinners and his wife Heidi of Bradford, MA, Joe and Tom Shinners of Springville, Utah; her step-sisters, Erin Nelson of Salem, MA and Tanya Nelson of Malden, MA; her grandparents, Fred and Maureen Clark of Springville Utah and Mary Shinners & the late George Shinners of Everett, MA; also many aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her canine friends, Oscar, Jake and Roggie. She was preceded in death by her Uncle James Shinners, her Aunt Carol Shinners and her grandfather, George Shinners. Funeral services for Carolyn will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett at 11 AM. Burial services for Carolyn will be held Monday, August 25, 2008 at 11 AM at the Spring Creek 4th Ward Chapel, 400 North 400 East, Springville. Viewings for family and friends will be held Sunday August 24 from 6-9 PM at Wheeler Mortuary 211 E 200 S. Springville and Monday at 10 AM before the services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a special Carolyn Shinners Memorial fund at Central Bank, 202 S Main St. Springville, UT.

Dear Uncle John,Cindy, Kathy and my cousins. I am very sorry for your loss. I will never forget Carolyn. We had fun camping and when she came to my house to visit with us during the summer. She was so much fun and she always hung out with me. I remember the time when she was at my house for my birthday party helping out my Mom with me and my friends. The inflatable bouncy collapsed and she was there pulling us all out. I will miss her and I love her.

Dear John, Cindy, Kathy and family,
I am truly very sorry for your loss. Carolyn was an angel sent from heaven. She was the kindest, sweetest girl who grew up to be a beautiful woman both inside and out. She was always there helping me when the kids would visit. She would never stop and I always enjoyed her company. Her beautiful smile will always be in my thoughts. God bless Carolyn and God bless all of you during this time. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
