ROWBOAT! I just learned that Bobby has made it past the back-stretch and over the finish line, where his ol' pal and lifelong friend, my Dad, Mike Catalano, will be thrilled to see him and to have his old partner-in-crime by his side again in the Winner's Circle. Bobby was a funny son of a gun with the energy of a classroom of five-year olds. "Rowboat" and "Big Mike" were the "gonna guys" - they were always in mid-stream of some plan to hit the big-time and retire. I can picture him walking animatedly around my Mother's kitchen table while everyone else was seated - talking loudly with both hands and keeping everyone in his audience in stitches! He was a loyal friend to both my parents and, more importantly, Kay's boyfriend for life. It was my honor to be in my Mother's kitchen on several occasions when Bobby was holding court. We all went to Marathon in the Florida Keys one year and Bobby was in his element as a deep-sea fisherman. He was generous with his attention to my son and me. We all stayed up late and sang old songs into the night. EVERYONE who knew him will miss Bobby. I'm sad for his family, but my Dad will receive him with open arms and hot-tip for the Perfecta! Love to all of you who feel the pain of his absence. I will pray to the Holy Mother of God for relief of your sadness. Now that Bobby is headed for Heaven, shouldn't someone call ahead and alert the proper authorities?
Respectfully,
Maggie Coffey, daughter of Dolores "Sis" and "Big Mike" Catalano.
