Richard S. Berardino
Of Laurel, MD, formerly of Everett, passed away Dec. 16th, 2005 at Laurel Regional Hospital, MD. Born April 15, 1946 in Everett. Loving companion of Grace Lagana of MD. Father of Robert and Amy both of MD. Son of the late Frank and Florence Doyle. Brother of Frank of FL and Robert of KS. Former husband and friend of Beverly Ricer. Also survived by 2 grandchildren, Sean and Colleen both of MD and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family. Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St, EVERETT, Wednesday Dec. 21 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Malden at 9. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Richard was an EHS Class of 1964 Graduate, received a BS in Russian Studies from UMASS in 1973. Richard moved to Maryland in 1974 to pursue employee with the Dept. of Defense at Fort George G. Meade. His distinguished career spannned over 35 years of service to our Nation's Intelligence Community, during which he received 2 master's degrees from the Defense Intelligence College. Richard was also the founder and first president of the Sons of Italy in Laurel, MD. Richard was a late US Air Force Veteran, a member of the K of C, and the American Legion.

My wonderful cousin, Richard. He kept his whole family and friends close at heart with his informative and sometimes humorous emails. I knew when I went online that I would be hearing from him. I am deeply saddened by his untimely death. Richard will be greatly missed.

Family and friends,
I served with the "Bear" in Turkey with the Air Force in the late 60's. We formed a veterans group known as VOMIT Veterans Of Misery In Turkey. Over the years Dick was instrumental in keeping us all informed with who was where and what was going on. I was saddened to hear of his untimely death. He had been lobbying for us to have another reunion soon. My prayers are with all of you. May Christ's love ease your pain as you mourn the loss of such a caring brother, father, and friend.

Family and friends,
Like my buddy Ron Fox, I served with Dick in Turkey. He had a youthful voice, a youthful smile, and a youthful New England way of speaking. All in all, he had a youthful way about him. And this stayed with him all of his life. I could sense it in his correspondence to us over the years. Even though my heart right now is broken, I think of "Bear" carrying that youthful way into eternity with him, and I draw comfort. So, too, should you. God Bless you all.

I would like to express how sorry I am on Dick's passing. I was in the Air Force with Dick in Turkey, VOMIT. Will miss his humor, great e-mails, & will remember our good times in the service.

I served in the Air Force with Bear in the late sixties. Being also from Massachusetts we formed an immediate bond. He was a good and very caring family man who always kept us up to date on his life with his annual Christmas "letter" and with his many e-mails. When I spoke with him recently he made no mention of any problems so this comes as a shock to me. God bless you, Bear, and my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

I was shocked to find the news of Bears untimely demise on my email this morning. We will remember fondly the good times we shared in Turkey. Our sincere condolences to the family. We will miss him too.

Family and Friends
I am truly saddened at this news. I was wondering why we hadn't heard from him lately, He was the main reason I logged on every day. No matter how bad my day was, there was usually something from Dick that made me laugh or think,and sometimes he got a tear out of me.
He will be missed. My condolences to all.
