Albert P. Donatio

Of Everett formerly of Cambridge, age 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 20. Beloved husband of Louise (Pasquariello), for over 60 years. Loving father of Albert, Peter and his wife Cyndi, Celia and Paul and his wife Lisa.  Proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren: Evan, Jeanmarie, Micaela, Matthew, Ty and Nicolas.

Born in Cambridge on March 10, 1928, the son of the late Attilio and Maria (Guglietti) Donadio.  Al grew up in Cambridge and was the last survivor of his brothers and sisters Angelina Parker, Americo Donatio, Joseph Donatio, Theresa Trigilio, Josephine DiTrapano, Carmella Errico and Barbara Witham.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Al graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin and served in the US Army as Sargent First Class.  He worked for the General Electric Jet Engine Division in both Lynn and Everett for over 40 years.  He enjoyed bowling, playing music and watching all of his childrens’ sporting events and never missed a game.  He met his wife Louise at a dance and they shared that love of ballroom dancing and made for a very graceful pair.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, Al cherished time with his family.  He was an avid Boston sports fan.  He was a member of the Gallery Gods for the Bruins for over 20 years in the old Garden. We thank Tom Brady and the Patriots and the Red Sox for giving him so much joy these last years.

In retirement Al got his first dog Ben and they were inseparable. He especially loved going to his vacation home in Wolfeboro, NH. Al and Louise were also able to travel extensively. Some of their favorite trips included Italy, Hawaii, Alaska, France, Spain, Greece, Bermuda, Yellowstone,  Mount Rushmore and countless cruises including the Mediterranean, the Rhine River and throughout the Caribbean.

Al also loved to cook, Italian food of course, and people from all over enjoyed family dinners at their home. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., Everett on May 24 at 9 am. A Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Everett at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thursday 4 to 8 pm. Complimentary valet parking Thursday at Main Street entrance. Interment will be private.

Mrs Donatio, Celia, Al, Peter & Paul,
All of my High School sports memories include your Dad. He and your Mom were our biggest fans. I'll keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.
With much love and sadness,

Celia, I felt very sad to read of your dad's passing especially after our chance meeting last Saturday afternoon. You mentioned that he might hold on until your mother's birthday and he did. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Tina

Donatio Family:
I am so very sorry for your loss, but know that Al is now at peace. Paul shared with me that is where you are as well. He lived a long, wonderful, fullfilling life as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. May your memories fill your voids and know that many hearts are caring about you.

Dear Louise and family. I am saddened to hear of Al's passing. I will always remember the fun we had on our Fortune 50 trips. We had a great time in Italy which was definitely one of our funniest times. Al was a great guy, loving and caring. He made the best eggplant sandwiches for me.
May he Rest in Peace with the angels and saints.
God Bless you.
Love Christine

Dear Louise and family - so sorry to hear of the passing of Al. I didn't really know him that well, but I am friendly with Louise and Al and Peter. Both of your boys used to spend many days at my house with my son, Dave, back when they were much younger. I loved to watch Al and Louise dance at the Moose and the Everett Senior Center socials. They moved so smoothly on the dance floor. My sympathies are with all of your family at this sad time.
Best Wishes
