Margaret L. Monterose
Margaret “Peggy” (Spottiswoode) Monterose of Winchester passed away peacefully at Winchester Nursing Care Center on February 20, 2017 at the age of 93. A graveside funeral service was held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody attended by Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Homes in Everett.
Peggy was the wife of the late Michael Monterose. She was born December 22, 1923 in Everett, MA and was the daughter of John H. and Lucy (Langstaff) Spottiswoode. She was a 1942 graduate of Everett High School and worked for many years as a bookkeeper beginning at the Boston Gas Company. Peggy was a Sunday School teacher at Grace Episcopal Church in Everett, very active in the First Federated Church of Everett, South Church in North Andover and supported St. Anthony’s Drill Team for many years. She enjoyed needlework, camping, dancing, her beloved Red Sox and most of all her family.
Peggy was the mother of Joan and her husband Kenneth Scribner of Everett, Marilyn and her husband Skip Fournier of Everett, Barbara and her husband Mark O’Brien of Lynn, Michele and her husband Rick Houston of Essex and Debra and her husband Jim Foti of Malden. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Mary Monterose, John Spottiswoode and Virginia Mahoney.

To the Monterose Family:
I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Peggy was a wonderful woman and we all have great memories of fun times during our time with St Anthony's Drilltream. From competitions to trips to sleepovers she was always there making it fun!
I consider myself lucky to have had her as a part of my growing up!
May you find peace in the days ahead.
