Ruth (Troccoli) Malta, 90 years old, a former resident of Cotuit and Reading MA, peacefully entered into rest at her home in Weymouth after a lengthy illness. Ruth was a devoted wife of Anthony W. Malta (Bill) for the last 70 years. Loving mother of Mary Langenthal of Weymouth and Susan Feener and her husband Gordon of Melrose. Ruth is also survived by 4 loving grandchildren Sarah Langenthal and David Langenthal and Brian Feener and his Fiancée Rachel Ruckstahl of Arlington VA and Michael Feener and his wife Kelly of Danvers MA. Ruth lived a very active life. Raised in Everett, MA, she graduated Forsyth Dental School and worked as a dental hygienist. Ruth enjoyed many activities including gardening, boating, sewing and making clothes for her family, especially for her grandchildren. She made and sold candles, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Ruth was an active member of her church, Christ the King Parish in Mashpee. She sang in the choir for many years, managed the church gift shop, and spent many hours helping out at the church thrift shop. As members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Ruth and Bill assisted boats in distress, taught classes on boat safety and she was the first woman to become an official member of the local Power Squadron. Ruth and Bill enjoyed square dancing and traveling. They were members of the Nautical Twirlers square dance club on the Cape and attended many square dance conventions around the country in addition to traveling the states and in Europe. Ruth was very family oriented. She reached out often to her family and friends and hosted many family holiday parties and cookouts. If someone was ill, Ruth was the first to call and check up on them and send them a card.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service at Salvatore Rocco and Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett, MA, on Friday February 17th. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 am, a wake service will be prior at 10:30 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Mary,
I will always remember your mother as the most perfect mother. She was so devoted to your father and you girls. She was so wonderful always for the times I was in her company during our college years. What a great role model you had.
Love,
Liz
