Beloved son of Carl and the late Carmella (DeLorenzo). Son-in-law of Nicola D’Alleva and the late Assunta.  Brother of Karen Connelly and her husband Patrick and Kevin John and his wife Judith and the late Keith and Kevin. Brother-in-law of Anna Celata and her husband Anthony, Nick D’Alleva and his wife Emma and the late Anthony D’Alleva and his late wife Diane. Proud grandfather of Dylan, Mia, Jacob and Grace.  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Funeral from Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Tuesday, October 25 at 10:30 am with a prayer service to follow immediately at 11 am.  Visiting hours are Monday from 5 to 9 pm.  Family and friends are kindly invited. Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum.  Complimentary valet parking Monday at Main Street entrance.  In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to MS Community Foundation, 6 Samos Circle, Peabody, MA  01960.  Carl and his family are thankful for the support they received from the MS Community Foundation, his team at Brigham & Women’s MS Clinic and Palliative & Hospice team.

The MS Community Foundation is dear to Carl’s heart.  The foundation helps people living with MS by building ramps, acquire assistive equipment, financial support and emotional support. The foundation has helped his daughter who suffers from a progressive form of MS.  They were able to build a ramp into her house, so her devoted husband did not have to carry her.  Although, Carl was diagnosed with Larynx Cancers he would always say to his family, nurses and doctors “cancer is a piece of cake compared to having to live with MS”. His passion to fight this disease has helped develop new drugs and treatments. Carl’s last request was to have his brain and spinal cord tissues donated to MS research to find a cure.  His beautiful mom was stricken with MS in her 60’s, Carl was diagnosed in his late 40’s and his daughter in her early 30’s.  He was heartbroken when his daughter was diagnosed and hopes to find a cure before the next generation will be afflicted.  This will be his legacy.  Rest in peace.

Maria, Melissa, Carl and the rest of the family. Words cannot express what a huge loss this is. He was one of the strongest, bravest, funniest, wisest people I have ever been lucky enough to meet, let alone consider him as family. He was an amazing best friend to my dad, this has been a tough loss for him too. You guys will always be a huge part of our family. We will miss Carl and he can rest in peace knowing we will take care of you guys!
