i frequently spoke with willie over the phone,as he was frequently calling my daughter kristen.when the name debra spain came across my phone i always knew it was his friendly voice. needless to say,my krissy is lost and i am sure she will be for a long time. all my other children send their love as they were quite fond of willie.rest in peace,willie,you will always be in our thoughts.

He never forgot about me when i went to florida in fact he was a big influence in my decision to change my life; and for that i''ll forever be indebted to him. Willie Spain was a great friend. Willie's notorious laugh and short smart one liners were enough to make you laugh until it hurt. His ability to see the good in any situation was what made him so special. He was so unique in the sense that one day he decided that he wanted to be what he called the "black" Gretzky haha. My father and I took him down our basement and let him pick out any kind of hockey equipment that he wanted. It wasn't more than a week later that he was playing hockey...for real. He didn't know much of the game but he was lightning on ice. That is Willie, he wanted to do something, to prove to himself and to others that anything he set his mind to he could accomplish. Getting older his ways never changed, do right by me and i'll do right by you. Willie always had my back, no questions asked. You will be missed my friend, Ski Trips, Camping, Softball Games, will never be the same. I love you kid...

I was not very close with Willie, but the times that I did have the chance to hang out with him were always memorable. I will always remember him for his big smile and contagious laugh. Willie what can I say? I love you man. We've had our share of problems/drama on this road called life. But I respect you so much. You have taught me so much through the years and I think about you all the time. It wasnt supposed to end like this. I know your saw it coming but it still doesnt seem right. I have mad LOVE for you Willie and I dont care what people think. And I will still remember and try to follow your rules of the streets. Stay real and never set yourself up for failure. I've never had a negative thought about you. Rest in PEACE Willie. You were a very well respected MAN and I willl never forget you. You will live through my and several other people's memeories. I feel like I know you better then anyone, maybe thats how everyone feels..idk..I just wish I could have that ast conversation with you and squash the drana between us. willie me and you were a team weather we played football,baseball or basketball since we were like 8..you were my boy my best friend you were like a brother..i still cant belive your gone.i can here u in my head saying "hey yo chick a cello WE IN THERE" damm i miss you and love you! you always knew how to make people laugh,you always had the right thing too say.Everyone loved you! my mom dukes my brother.we all miss you!! im gonna miss that big smile! you were always the quickest the fastest even if u had those skates on..Man i love you,may you sleep in peace willie.. i heart goes out too you debbi and leon and the whole spain family!!! ill never forget the good times!

Damn. I still can't believe your not a phone call away anymore. I miss you more with each passing day. I keep replaying the last few times we were together over and over..I wish I got to tell you how much I cared for you when I had the chance, and how much I respected and appreciated your friendship.
