Amelia Anne (Joyokonis) Makacinas died peacefully on Thursday, 13 September, at Massachusetts General Hospital with her two sons at her side:  Fr. Stanley E. Makacinas, O. Carm. (Niagara Falls, Canada) and John C. Makacinas (Irvine, California).  She was predeceased by her husband Stanley E. Makacinas (2007), her brothers John, Tony, Stanley and sisters Anne Joyokonis and Joan Sarni.  Amy was a caring, loving and thoughtful person who was very attentive to others’ needs and  very generous to her family and friends.  Amy, 89, was a life long resident of Everett and a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish.  She enjoyed travel and the companionship of her many friends.  An avid sports fan, she enjoyed the Patriots and Bruins and was philosophical about the ups and downs of the Red Sox.   She enjoyed immensely playing Scrabble with her late sister Joan and her two sons.  Amy retired after thirty-five years of service from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.   Stanley, John and his wife Diana will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, 16 September from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Rocco Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Parish on Monday, 17 September at 11:00 am with internment at the Woodlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations in Amy’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
