WETHERBEE, Joshua James “Josh”, of Everett, Age 25, passed away on September 11, 2016, from an accidental overdose. For many years, he fought a heroic battle with addiction. He had been sober for three months, but his disease still had a powerful hold on him. The reality of Josh’s death is devastating, and no possible reason can justify the loss of this handsome young man, who had so much to give to the world. Josh graduated from Malden Catholic High School and Salem State University. Wherever he went, people loved him. The disease of addiction is merciless. Josh had a passion for life and his work (whatever job he was doing). His family and friends meant everything to him. In the past 3 months, Josh got closer to God and his faith was growing more and more. Josh had the most beautiful smile, the biggest heart and he will be missed by his family and friends. He was like a big cuddly teddy bear.
Beloved son of James Wetherbee and his fiancée Deborah Ragucci and Kathy Boudreau and her husband Dave. Grandson of Katherine Herrett and the late Gilbert Herrett, Richard Wetherbee and Jeannette Wetherbee. Survived by girlfriend Irene Blake and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be held in St. Anthony Church, 38 Oakes Street, Everett on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: The Herren Project, PO Box 131, Portsmouth, RI 02871. Arrangements by Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home.
