Our Beloved Sally A. Milo was born Serafina Trentini in Orsogna, Italy (Abruzzo Region, Provvidenza di Chieti) in 1930. Her father (Domenic Trentini 1908-1986) left for the United States soon after her birth for a better life for Serafina and her mother (Concetta Trentini 1908-1990). Serafina was very sad to leave her family in Italy and spoke of her Aunt Carmella with such love and sadness, as Carmella passed away soon after they left. It took her father Domenic 10 years to set up their new life and send for them in Italy. He wanted to get them to the US before WWII started… Serafina and her mom arrived into Ellis Island NY in 1940. Their ship, the Rex, was bombed on its way back to the Mediterranean! They moved to Everett, MA and Serafina changed her name to Sally in High School because she wanted to fit in as a proud American. She even lost her Italian accent. She graduated from Everett High School in 1949 and soon married Joseph D. Milo (1926-2010), also from Everett. They eventually moved to Melrose, MA and on to Lynnfield, MA in the early 1960s where Joseph started his own Architectural and Building business.
Sally loved to cook and she was an amazing chef! She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and sharing her recipes. Sally was also an entrepreneur owning several dress shops: Jerri-lu Fashions in Wakefield and Samantha's in South Lynnfield's Post Office Square. She divorced Joseph in 1987 and moved to her favorite spot in Salem, MA in 1991. She opened up the famous Samantha's Boutique and Costume Shop in downtown Salem. She began wintering in South Florida in 2001, and eventually retiring full-time to Tamarac, FL in 2013. She passed away peacefully early Monday morning May 9th after a full Mother's Day surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed terribly but reunited with Ma, Pa, Joey and Aunt Carmella.
Sally leaves her loving children Stephen Milo from Naples, FL, Gary Milo from Hillsboro Beach, FL, David Milo from Rowley, MA (married to Karen Olbrys), Laurie Landess from Beverly, MA and Sandra Milo from Tamarac, FL (married to Eric Mauro). Sally will be reunited with her dearest firstborn son, Joseph J. Milo (1950-2004).
She leaves three amazing Grandchildren, Cara Maria Milo (from Joseph and Maria Milo), Jacob Glen Landess (from Laurie and Gary Landess) and Ava Serafina Milo (from David and Karen Milo).
Sally also leaves her wonderful siblings: Robert Trentini from Revere, married to Gloria (Tecce), and Deanna Comeau from Peabody, her three beloved nephews by her Sister, Deanna Comeau: David (married to Jackie Stone), Dennis and Doug Comeau, along with her sweet great-niece and nephew Mackenzie and Cameron Comeau (children of Jackie and David); and many cousins and extended family in both Massachusetts and Orsogna Italy.
May God Bless Her and Welcome Her with Open Loving Arms ….
