Arthur E. Lynch Jr., who was born on May 28th 1927 to Arthur E. Lynch Sr. and Catherine A. Lynch (Henneberry), sister of the late Carol Ann DeRose (Lynch), passed away peacefully on February 22, 2016 in Beverly Mass. Arthur was fondly known by friends and family as “Sonny” and spent most of his life growing up and living in Everett and Malden. Sonny is survived by his two nieces Gina Silverman of Beverly, Lisa DeRose of Maui, Hawaii, brother in law Joseph DeRose of Maui, Hawaii as well as his cousins Claire Blackmore of Byfield Edward Henneberry of Peabody and Thomas Henneberry of Revere. Sonny was a WW2 Veteran where he served in the Navy and also in the Army where he served two tours in the Korean conflict and was awarded the purple heart. After retiring from the military Sonny chose to work as a postman with the US Postal Service until retirement. Sonny was happily married to Dorothy Lynch who passed away in 1998. Sonny was an avid Boston sports fan and known for his tremendous sense of loyalty, kindness and generosity. A Prayer Service will be held at Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Wednesday, March 2 at 11:00 am. Visiting hours will be prior from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Madeline English School, 105 Woodville St, Everett, MA 02149.
