GATES, George A. "Skip"

Of Everett on May 10 at age 75. Entered into eternal peace after a long courageous battle with heart disease. George is survived by his loving wife Elena (Rocco) of Everett. Loving father of Julie Johnson of Las Vegas, Joanne Luise and her husband Michael of Wilmington, Gary Gates and his wife Laurie of Plymouth and Kevin Gates and his wife Theresa of Franklin. Beloved brother of the late Gerald Gates and Ruth Maio.  Survived by brother-in-law John Rocco and his wife Joan of Lynnfield. Loving son of the late George and Irene Gates of Lynn. George is survived by 12 loving grandchildren, Mark and Morgan Johnson of Las Vegas, Nicholas, Daniel and Kristin Luise of Wilmington, Alyssa, Joshua, Jacob and Justin Gates of Plymouth and Mathew, Michael and Anthony Gates of Franklin and many loving nieces and nephews. George served in the U.S. Army as a member of the Intelligence Division during the Korean War and was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service. Funeral services from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., EVERETT, on Friday, May 14 at 9 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church in Everett at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thursday only 4-8 P.M. Donations in George's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , PO Box 50, Memphis TN 38101. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery in Everett. Complimentary valet parking at Main St. entrance on Thursday night.
