RAGUCCI, Dr. Antoinette T. Of Everett, on Oct. 30. Age 90. Born in Everett in 1922. Everett High School graduate 1940. Daughter of the late Alfonso & Virginia (Macario). Sister of Marjorie Baldassare of Everett, the late Robert & Charles Ragucci. Also survived by 11 nieces & nephews & many grand nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., EVERETT, Friday, Nov. 2, at 9 o'clock. Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Everett, at 11. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours will be prior to Mass from 9-10:30. In lieu of flowers donations in Ms. Ragucci's memory may be made to the Union of Concerned Scientists, 2 Brattle Sq., Cambridge, MA 02138. Entombment in the Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden. Upon graduation from Everett High School, Ms. Ragucci completed her training at Waltham Hospital & became a cadet nurse filling in for nurses who joined the Army or Navy. She went onto earn her BS in Nursing at Boston College & her MS in Rehabilitation Nursing at Boston University. Ms. Ragucci found nursing as a way to help her country during WW II. One of her passions was the application of nursing & medical practices in different cultures, so she followed up with a PhD in Cultural Anthropology. While studying for her Doctorate she traveled to Peru to help establish a clinic in Arequipa, her dissertation explored health practices amoung Italian women in Boston's North End. She shared her interests through teaching, she taught at Boston Collge for 12 years, & later moved to Ohio where she finished her career at Case Western Reserve University. She was an independent woman who lived a full & interesting life.
