Raffaele A. Leo
Of Everett, 84, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Immacolata DiFilippo Leo and loving father to Anna Enright, Luigi Leo, Flavio Leo, and Nilde Leo-Farol and their spouses Patrick, Alicia, Maria and Leilani. Loving grandfather of Alex, Isabelle, Raffaele, Sam, Phoebe, Marco, Kailei and Noe. Dear brother of Nilda Coviello and the late, Evelina Russo, Carmelina D'Ascoli, Etelizia Ascoli, Luigi Leo, Giaginto Leo and Nunziata DeAngelis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the Boston area and in Italy. Raffaele was born in Siano, Italy in 1934. He opened a cafe in Siano in the early 1960's. He became an accomplished pastry chef, specializing in Neapolitan regional pastries. He worked in Sorrento and Vallo, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and at Mike's Pastry in the North End of Boston. After retirement, he continued baking at home and making homemade wine, prosciutto and spirits to the joy of his family and friends. He was a founding member and president of the Italian Club of Everett. Raffaele requested please no flowers; instead donations can be made to a homeless charity, such as Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118. Funeral from the Rocco & Sons FH, 331 Main St., EVERETT on Thursday, December 6 at 9AM. A Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, 46 Oakes St. Everett, at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 175 Broadway, Malden. A Wake Service will be held Wednesday, December 5 from 4-8 PM. Relatives & friends are kindly invited.
