Arnold "Arn" E. Boardman, 85, of Laconia, NH, formally of Everett, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2014.

Arnold was born January 13, 1928 in Everett, MA.  He was the son of the late Walter C. and Edna (Lawson) Boardman and was raised by his aunt, Clara L. Burke.  He was a 1946 graduate of Everett High School and served in the U.S. Army from November 1948 to June 1950 in Japan & Germany and received an Army of Occupation Medal; from June 1950 to his discharge from the Army September 7, 1951, he served in the Korean Conflict receiving a Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars.  In 1993 Arn and his wife, Claire, retired to South Down Shores in Laconia NH to live.  Arn was an amateur photographer and enjoyed photography for several years.  He also continued to follow his "hometown" of Everett's high School Football Team.  He still attended their football games and writing in the Advocate Newspaper in Everett of the results of each game.  He also produced a book on Everett's Football Teams since they started playing in 1892 through 2007.  Arn is a member of the Everett "E" Club and is listed as their Historian on Everett Football.

Survivors include his best friend and wife of 59 years, Claire Susan (Moroney) Boardman of Laconia, one sister, Gladys Capizzi of the North End in Boston, MA, one brother, Kenneth Boardman of Revere, MA, three nephews; Salvatore "Sammy" Capizzi, Andrew and Phillip Boardman, Five nieces; Gladys, Shirley, Louise, Gale, and Sonja all of MA.  He has one surviving cousin, William Berry of North Reading, MA.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett, at 12:00 PM (noon) on Saturday, April 26.  Visiting hours will be on Saturday only from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Interment will be private.
