I consider Carl one of my best friends ever. He, Jerry Orrill, Gary Jefferies, and I had some adventures that had us wondering how we survived to adulthood. Carl was the only classmate that wrote to me during my time in the Air Force. Of course, he didn't write. He dictated to Alana who wrote the letters for him. When I got out of the Air Force and was going to ICC in Peoria he and Alana welcomed me into their home many weekends. We also had lots of good times on the river with Sam and Stu.

I regret that we drifted apart in later years and that I wasn't there when Alana was sick. But we were overjoyed when I heard he and Barb found each other.

He will be missed by many.

Sympathy and prayers for all of Carl's family. I knew him virtually my whole life. (His mom, Betty was my kindergarten teacher). I know that he will be sorely missed by all that knew him. God bless and keep you all as you begin to heal.
