Posted by: Denny Harris Tue March 11, 2008 | Bonnie and Family, My sincere regrets at the lose of your husband and father. Although a class behind me, I remember Steve and his brothers well. I also remember our cute little redheaded neighbor (and her sisters!) on Howard Street that he married. I will let my Dad know (age 100)as he likes to keep up with Shelbyville news. Denny |
Posted by: Bob Cox Wed March 12, 2008 | I grew up with Steve, or as we knew him "Moss", he was a year older and was the "big brother" I never had. He was my advisor during all my formative adolescent years and though I didn't always follow his advice, especially about girls, he was always a very close dear friend, the type young boys have but will never admit or discuss how close we feel. He generated my interest with cars and motorcycles, and basketball. Though we lost contact after high school and when I left for IU, I've thought of "Moss" often. This was a shock. I now regret not trying to re-establish contact with him and tell him what a great positive influence he had on my life as a child and into adulthood. Since I can't say these things to him, I share them with you his family. I share your grief and feel a deep personal loss, even after 40 plus years since our last contact. Bonnie Jo, I remember you too, please accept my sincere condolences for you and your entire family. Bob Cox, SHS class of '66. |
