Claude Wilbur Umbarger, 83, of Shelbyville died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Indianapolis.
Born July 21, 1927, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ovie B. and Hazel (Stuckey) Umbarger. He married Amelia "Amy" Toops on July 27, 1973, and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Claude Allen (Kay) Umbarger; daughters, Linda (Arthur) Stevens and Pamela (Don) Kirby, both of Indianapolis, and Teresa (Richey) Barrows and Terri (Bob) Tague, both of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Barbara Toops of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Umbarger; sister, Margaret Edwards; and sons, Danny Umbarger and Roger Umbarger.
Mr. Umbarger was a U.S. Navy veteran and had been employed as a truck driver.
Claude enjoyed cruise vacations.
