Steven Thomas Settles, 64, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his residence.

Born Sept. 19, 1946, in Indianapolis, he was the son of William Owen and Marion (Fisher) Settles. He married Wanita Randolph on April 18, 1973, and she survives.

Other survivors include sons, Thomas (Judy) Settles of Shelbyville, Scott Alexander of Boggstown and Steven Settles of Ohio; daughters, Kim (Brad) Bullard and Pam (Larry) Welch, both of Shelbyville, and Angel Philippi or Oregon; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael (Carol) Settles of Fairland and Pat (Glenda) Settles and Bud Settles, both of Shelbyville; and sisters, Mary Jo (Steve) Yeley of Indianapolis and Betty Jean (Denny) Kincaid of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Settles had been employed as a truck driver for Wallace Construction.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles.

Steve enjoyed dirt track and stock car racing and camping.

No visitation or services will be conducted.

Carol, I saw your name on Steve''s obituary. I have thought about you all many times; we had a get together here when our oldest daughter and yournger brother came in from Shreveport and I showing pictures and we had one of you, your Mom, and Sandy. You and your family will be in our thoughts.
