Freda Louise Shepard Egielske, 84, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at her daughter's home in Shelbyville.

She was born June 21, 1926, in Rushville to Fred Thomas and Dolly (Smith) Thomas. She married Bert Kenneth Shepard, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include six sons, Kenneth (wife, Patty) Anderson of Florida, Freddie Shepard of Shelbyville, Bobby (wife, Debbie) Shepard of Washington, Terry (wife, Rebecca) Shepard of Connersville, Tom (wife, Debbie) Shepard of Shelbyville, and Ronnie Shepard of Shelbyville; three daughters, Sarah (husband, Tommy) Shepard-Tucker of Shelbyville, Pamela (husband, Steve) Shepard-Hodgetts of Shelbyville and Lou Ann (husband, Jay) Shepard-Miller of Edenton, N.C.; 36 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and an honorary daughter, Nancy Caudill of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Shepard and Frankie Shepard; a daughter, Nona Shepard; one brother; and one sister.

Freda leaves behind a longtime companion, Burton Sizemore.

She enjoyed yard sales, reading, music, dancing and loved animals.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville IN 46176.

i am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother i have no idea what you are going through my heart goes out to all of you and dont grieve of the loss of her she is with god but remember she was a blessing to you all and you guys have those memeroies with you evryday love betty aldridge
