Marilyn Rose Brokering, 79, of Waldron, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Major Hospital.
Born April 7, 1932, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of George W. and Helen (Rutherford) Anders. She married Wallace G. Brokering on Aug. 25, 1956, and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1985.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mavern Anders of Junction City, Kan.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Anders.
Mrs. Brokering was a housewife and a lifelong resident of Shelby County.
She had worked as a private-duty nurse's aide for 20 years and volunteered for the Red Cross and as a Gray Lady, working at the Major Hospital gift shop.
Mrs. Brokering was a member of First Christian Church.
No visitation is planned.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Buffy Powers officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
