Janet,
We are so grieved to learn of Jim's passing. He was one of my closest childhood friends. We went thru grade school and high school together and our group of Gene, Phil, Steve Higdon, Steve Moss, and me were as inseparable a bunch of boys as you could ever imagine. The stories I recall, being chased (but not caught) on foot by the police for throwing snowballs, playing in our garage band (he played lead guitar and was our "singer"), riding motorcycles together, and sneaking into the drive-in with a case of skunked beer which I think is where and when you two first met but I could be mistaken on that. Anyway, you get the idea. My childhood experiences were wonderful due in large part that “Riggsy" was such an integral part of my younger days. I will forever treasure his friendship. Please accept our sincere heartfelt condolences. If there was any possible way for Louise and me to be in Shelbyville for his services and to see you personally, we surely would. Sadly we can't make the trip right now due to our circumstances and commitments here in Georgia. We do have a trip to Indianapolis to see my Mother on Mar 18th, return on the 20th. Would love to share a brief visit if you are up to it. We drive from Cincinnati on I-74 so we pass right by town. Let us know. May God bless you and family always but especially during this very difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Bob and Louise Cox

I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I wish we had kept in touch throughout the years. I have such fond memories of Jimmy, Debbie and Terry from babysitting one summer. I didn't know the other children as well. I pray God's comfort to all that loved him, and that you all see him again in Heaven.

Mrs. Riggs & family. We are so very sorry to hear about Jim. It was quite a shock to all of us, he was such a nice person to have around. I think most of all will miss his smile, all he had to do was walk in smile & it would light up our office. We will be praying for you & your family.
