Elga Preilis, 100, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Riga, Latvia. She married Voldermis Preilis in 1929, and he preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by daughters, Zedra, Margie and Mary.
Survivors include a son, Martin Preilis; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Preilis had been employed as a factory worker and in food service and retired from Seabrook Farms in New Jersey after 30 years of service.
She was a member of the New Life Methodist Church in Fairland.
She was an avid Lawrence Welk fan and loved gardening.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at New Life Methodist Church, 6145 N. 400W in Fairland.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Randy Slaven officiating.
Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
