Terry Alen Burnett, 62, of Shelbyville died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Oct. 18, 1948, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Charles E. and Irene Louise (Lutz) Burnett Sr.
Survivors include His mother of Fairland; sons, Timothy (wife, Sonya) E. Burnett of Florida and Terry A. Burnett Jr. of North Carolina; daughter, Summer (husband, Andrew) Barham of Wales; two stepchildren; nine grandchildren, with a 10th expected in June; four brothers, three sisters; and companion, Barbara Walsman of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Burnett.
Mr. Burnett was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam.
He enjoyed playing golf.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service & Crematory, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Robert Prather officiating.
Burial will be in the Heroes of Honor & Glory Veterans Garden, Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens, with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Terry A. Burnett Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
