He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Gloria Jane McDuffey of 52 years.  They married on July 8, 1967.  He also leaves his daughter, Michelle (Michael) McDuffey-Sam and sons, Ronnie Lee McDuffey, Indianapolis, and Douglas L.   Douglas was an active member and trustee of Second Baptist Missionary Church.

He attended Shelbyville Central schools.  He worked for many years at Overhead Door and Wellman Thermal Systems, both companies were located in Shelbyville, IN.

Douglas’ love for his family was no secret.  He had a love for sports.  He loved the Chicago Bears, the Indiana Pacers, and I.U. sports. He always supported his children and grandchildren in their sports activities as well.

Mick and Jack,
My sympathy and thoughts for you and all the family. I remember Doug from way back, as your little brother. I got to know him a bit as an adult the times we all got together a few years ago. "Everything a husband, father, and grandfather should be" -- what a great epitaph.

Jane, We missed you at last week-end's reunion of the SHS Class of '64 and were told by Lyndell Metz Floyd of the sad, sad reason for your absence. A guy and gal who make it 52 years are a rarity these days. On behave of all your classmates, our sincere condolences during these unhappy times.
Denis
