  Gary Wayne Corley 34, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at his residence.

  He was born April 23, 1985 in Shelbyville to Terry Wayne (wife, Karen) Corley and Angela (Jones) Rooks.

  Gary is survived by his parents, sister, Tina Marie Corley, brothers, Jeremy Canter, and Chad Hodgins, all of Shelbyville; sister, Amber Van Cleave of Indianapolis; step-son, Trent Jones; 3 nephews, 4 nieces, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, 2 uncles, 1 aunt, and 1 cousin.

  Gary was a U.S. Army veteran.  He served in Iraq, where he received the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star and other service medals.

  He enjoyed fishing and listening to music. His greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends.

   Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Duane Jones officiating.

  Burial will be in the Heroes of Honor and Glory section in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.  Full military rites will be conducted by U.S. Army and local veterans’ organizations.

  Memorial contributions honoring Gary may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P O Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675

  Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Corley family.
